The threat was Ð you could have your property (and personal possessions) confiscated and sold. This Act ultimately will be invoked and land was confiscated across the state. These records are the accounts preserved and filed in the State Treasurer and ComptrollerÕs office. This volume documents those records for the following Counties Ð Anson, Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Chowan, Craven, and Currituck. Note: The quantity of records by county varies a lot Ð however, what was preserved is contained here.
